Innovative Childcare Solutions
While many families find conventional childcare works really well for them, not everyone fits the ‘nine to five’ mould. If you find yourself with a childcare conundrum, you might like to consider some different options.
Does this sound like you?
“I’m exhausted, getting my little ones out of the door so early to nursery before work.”
A qualified, experienced full time daily nanny will be there early, let your little ones sleep on if appropriate and be there to provide breakfast, take them to all the activities you would like them to do, or for their sessions at nursery, visiting Granny or play dates with their friends. Nanny will also do their laundry and ironing, keep their rooms/nursery clean and cook nutritious balanced meals for them. When you return, there is a happy atmosphere and Nanny will let you know everything that has happened during the day.
How much? Live out Nannies £400 – 440 per week net, Live-in Nannies £275-£350 per week net
“A Nanny is outside my budget”
Feel it’s too expensive? Do you have a friend or neighbour with similar aged children and outlook to life? Arrange a ‘Nanny Share’ to share the financial strain. All the benefits at half the cost. Or employ one of the many ‘Plus One’ Nannies who bring along their own child in return for a slightly lower wage.
How much? £350-375 per week net for a Nanny ‘Plus One’
“I work part time.”
Nannies are also available for part time hours, giving professional care in your home for the hours that you need, be it full days, part days, or ‘wrap around’ care at the start and end of the day.
How much? £8-10 per hour net
“I’m a full time mother, and have two children under three, I’m expecting twins!”
A Mother’s Help is your solution. Mother’s Helps will be child focussed and help you out with anything to do with the children including cooking for them, doing their laundry and organising activities, all under your supervision.
How much? £6.50-7.00 per hour net
“I work from home and my children are at school. I need help with work and childcare”
A Nanny/PA will have childcare and relevant business experience. She will do the school runs, help you in your home office, make and receive phone calls, organise grocery deliveries, get the car serviced, pick up the dry cleaning, and anything else that allows you to work a full day.
How much? £420-450 weekly net, or £9-10 per hour net for part-time
“I can’t afford to have a cleaner as well as someone to look after my children”
You need a Nanny/Housekeeper, who will carry out all the duties you would expect of a Nanny, plus assist you with the running of your home including cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, and even walking the dog. This works very well with school aged children, as there is time during the day to carry out all the housework duties while the little ones are at school.
How much? Expect to pay the same as a regular Nanny
“My wife has been rushed into hospital I need someone to help us from tomorrow”
An experienced Emergency Nanny will come to the house and live in/out for the duration of the emergency. Supporting the family, and running the household if necessary.
How much? £10-15 per hour net
“If I employ a nanny, I won’t have time to do tax and National Insurance”
There are some excellent payroll services specialising in Nanny payroll, which for around £200 per year pay nanny, deal with formalities and issue payslips and P60s
“We’re getting married and I want a quiet, romantic service, but we’d love the children to join us at the reception”
A mobile crèche is the answer. Experienced Nannies will entertain the children during the service/reception/event and be there to babysit for guests in the evening too.
